I’m Jess Harris, a portrait artist based in Bournemouth, Dorset, specialising in lifelike oil paintings and finely detailed biro drawings. My work fouses on capturing more than just likeness but also aims to reveal the soul, character, emotion and story within each subject.

My Journey as an Artist

Art has always been a part of my life. From an early age I was drawn to portraiture – sketching people and pets, fascinated by the way an expression can be frozen in a moment.

I went on the study Fine Art at Falmouth College and later Illustration and the University of the Arts, Bournemouth, where I refined my technique and explored the depths of oils and pen work.

Over the years, biro portraits have become a signature style, with clients drawn to their unique precision and honesty, while my oil portraits allow me to create timeless pieces full of richness and depth.
